Rügenwalder Mühle Carl Müller GmbH & Co. KG. was founded in 1834 by master butcher Carl Müller in the Pomeranian town of Rügenwalde. Today it is based in Bad Zwischenahn in Lower Saxony and is one of the best-known food manufactu- rers in Germany. Since 2014, Rügenwalder Mühle has been known for its vegan and vegetarian products in addition to sausage and ham and is now the market leader in Germany in this segment.
In addition to around 25 classic meat and sausage products, the brand manufactu- rer‘s range now also includes around 50 vegetarian and vegan alternatives. The red mill, the trademark of Rügenwalder, always stands for traditional craftsmanship and the best ingredients. The basis for this is formed by the family recipes from Rügenwalde, which have been adapted to the nutritional requirements of today. The meat-free products are also a welcome alternative for many people who want to reduce their meat consumption or give it up completely.

For the first time: vegan sausages – especially for children

Rügenwalder Mühle was the first company to launch the first range of vegan sausage alternatives for children with “Abenteu- er Spaß”. The first products were Vegan Adventure Mortadella with sunflower protein and Vegan Adventure Spread with pea protein, a child-friendly version of Rügenwalder Mühle‘s Vegan Pommerschen.
The range also included Vegan Adventure Nuggets with soy pro- tein and a crispy coating and Vegan Adventure Sausages with pea protein. The salt, fat and sugar content of both products comply with the nutritional recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) for children‘s products. This pro- duct range is aimed at children aged between 4 and 14 years. They contain only 1.2% salt and no added sugar. They are also rich in omega-3 fatty acids and contain neither genetic enginee- ring nor flavor enhancers.
